Why we built this website
We want to help you estimate quantities before shopping: the space you need to fill, the number of bags that cover it and their cost. The tools require no account and support both metric and US customary measurements.
How the calculations work
Raised beds and rectangular containers use length × width × fill height. Round pots use a truncated-cone model; equal diameters give a cylinder. Purchases are rounded up to whole bags, with an optional allowance you choose. Code tests check unit conversions and bag-rounding cases.
What our guides provide
The guides explain measuring, converting units and turning a volume into a purchase through examples you can reproduce. Growing advice links to its sources. The project is developed with AI assistance; the guides are not presented as field experience and we do not claim professional credentials we do not hold.
What a volume calculation cannot decide
Volume does not determine the right growing mix, the depth a plant needs or how much a material will settle. Root balls, reservoirs and irregular shapes can reduce usable capacity. Use inside measurements and check the product instructions and the needs of your plants.
One project, two languages
Spanish pages start with centimeters, liters and euros. English pages start with feet or inches, cubic feet and dollars. You can change units; selecting a currency does not convert the entered price. ES / EN links switch between corresponding pages.
