Measure and prepare

  1. Check the units shown for each input. Measure the actual inside dimensions or net area required by this tool.
  2. Use manufacturer coverage, dose, pack size or your measured flow where applicable. Do not treat example inputs as product recommendations.
  3. Check the assumptions below, update the starting values and review whole-unit purchase rounding where applicable.

Method and limits

Area × max(0, target depth − useful rain) ÷ efficiency gives litres; divide by total zone flow for minutes. One mm over one m² is one litre. Zero watering is returned if rain covers the target. This is not a climate-specific watering schedule.

Worked example

With the editable starting values: 26.0417 watering minutes. 312.5 litres for the zone · 6.25 l/m² supplied at the entered efficiency

Frequently asked questions

Are these starting values recommendations?

No. They are editable examples. Use your own measurements and the product label or quoted specification.

What should I check before using the result?

Area × max(0, target depth − useful rain) ÷ efficiency gives litres; divide by total zone flow for minutes. One mm over one m² is one litre. Zero watering is returned if rain covers the target. This is not a climate-specific watering schedule.

Are units and prices converted automatically?

No. These tools use the metric units shown next to each field. Monetary inputs and results are in EUR; enter the relevant EUR tariff or quote. No currency conversion or live prices are applied.
